  • 1 pound (450 g) pork shoulder, cut into long strips
  • 1/4 cup (60 ml) hoisin sauce
  • 2 tablespoons (30 ml) soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons (30 ml) honey
  • 2 tablespoons (30 ml) Chinese rice wine or dry sherry
  • 1 tablespoon (15 ml) sesame oil
  • 1 teaspoon (5 ml) Chinese five-spice powder
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon (15 ml) sugar

Marination Duration

  • Combine hoisin sauce, soy sauce, honey, rice wine, sesame oil, five-spice powder, minced garlic, and sugar in a bowl. Marinate the pork in this mixture for at least 2 hours, preferably overnight, in the refrigerator.

Cooking Instructions

  1. Preheat the Ruokala air fryer to 180 degrees Celsius.
  2. Place the marinated pork strips in the air fryer basket. Avoid overlapping.
  3. Cook for 20-25 minutes, turning halfway, until the pork is cooked through and the edges are caramelized.
  4. Rest the pork for a few minutes, then slice it into bite-sized pieces.
